PART-TIME MULTIMEDIA NEWS REPORTER
987 The Big Boy, Cheyenne County Country and News Channel Nebraska are looking for a community-minded storyteller to help cover local news and keep western Nebraska, northeast Colorado and southeast Wyoming informed.
This is not a desk job. We’re looking for someone who enjoys meeting people, attending community events, covering local government, sharing positive stories and helping deliver important information when it matters most.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Voice local newscasts and news updates
· Write local news stories for web and broadcast
· Cover community events, meetings and breaking news
· Create content for social media platforms
· Conduct interviews with local leaders, organizations and residents
· Assist with severe weather and emergency coverage
· Take photos and video when needed
· Help keep local communities informed and connected
Qualifications:
· Strong communication and writing skills
· Comfortable speaking on-air
· Organized and dependable
· Interest in local news and community events
· Ability to work independently
· Radio, journalism or social media experience is helpful but not required
Hours: 10-20 hours per week with flexible scheduling. Newscasts air Monday through Saturday.
