Location: Fairbury, Beatrice, & Southeast Nebraska

Dates: May 18 – August 15, 2026 (Approx. 12 weeks)

Schedule: Part-time, approximately 20 hours per week

Compensation: Paid Internship

Flood Communications is seeking an energetic, creative, and dependable student intern to assist with promotions, events, and on-air support for Ol’ Red 99.5 and KWBE. This hands-on internship offers real-world experience in radio broadcasting, marketing, social media, and live event promotion. The intern will represent Flood Communications and its stations in a fun, engaging, and professional manner at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

Promotions & Commercial Production

· Assist with commercial production for local advertisers and Production Voice Share

· Support on-air promotions and listener interaction initiatives

Social Media & Digital Promotions

· Create promotional graphics using Canva

· Assist with social media posting and engagement on Facebook and X

· Support interactive on-air and online features

· Promote seasonal campaigns such as:

o Summer Concerts

o KWBE Party Palooza

· Develop promotional content for:

o Ol’ Red & KWBE

o High school and Doane University

Events, Remotes & Community Outreach

· Assist with station remotes, fairs, festivals, and live events

· Organize, transport, and set up promotional materials

· Interact with listeners and event attendees in a positive, outgoing manner

· Represent the stations in parades, including driving station vehicles (if eligible)

Community & News Support

· Attend ribbon cuttings, business anniversaries, and client open houses

· Attend select board meetings, council meetings, and news press conferences

Qualifications

· High school junior/senior or college student preferred

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills

· Comfortable speaking with the public

· Basic social media knowledge; Canva experience a plus

· Dependable, organized, and able to work flexible hours (including some evenings/weekends)

· Valid driver’s license preferred (required for certain duties)
